Brew Review – Lagerhead Brewing

I almost feel bad writing about Lagerhead Brewing since I can’t seem to find a lot about them online. I saw them at Palm Beach Summer Beer Fest, tried two of their beers while there, did my prerequisite internet research, but I still can’t find a ton of information about them. They haven’t tweeted in a while, and their website mentions a tap room that I can’t seem to find.

But I am going to mention them since the two beers of theirs I tried were quite good. First of all, Lagerhead was started by four friends, at least two of which went to FSU. That’s a good start. šŸ™‚ They appear to still be building, brewing from home and distributing that way. Once they grow bigger, hopefully I’ll be able to try more of their brews and get some more information.

However, beer. I have a slight soft spot in my heart for coffee porters, and their Coffeepot Porter was good. Not nearly as explosive a coffee taste as others I’ve tried, and I might actually like that. It’s a light porter, almost a breakfast porter, and is very sessionable and clean.

The other beer of theirs, Bitchin’ Blonde, is another crisp, light beer. This American Blonde Ale is still big on flavor, so don’t assume it’s a bland adjunct beer like some other blondes that are readily available.

I am hoping that in the near future I can get you more information on Lagerhead Brewing. In the meantime, be on the lookout for them. They’re the one with the cool turtle logo. And if you find them, let me know.

Drink Florida Craft,

Chris
