Funky Buddha Brewery bottles release Dec. 10th

It looks like the big event that quite a few Florida beer drinkers have been waiting for is coming next month.

On December 10th, Oakland Park’s Funky Buddha Brewery will release two of their signature beers in bottles for distribution throughout South Florida. The two scheduled for release is their signature Floridian (Hefeweizen, 5.6% ABV, 12 IBU), a light hefeweizen full of big, sweet fruity maltiness, and Hop Gun (India Pale Ale, 7.7 ABV, 80 IBU), their beloved IPA that has a juicy big hoppiness that hopheads tend to adore.

As you can see, these will be releasing in six bottle packs (with what I think is a pretty cool design, and a big emphasis on almost triangular, dynamic packaging. I’m hoping I can get a poster of the artwork, please).

The bottles are being produced in house, after they expanded their production floor by 21,000 feet and installed a ton of more fermentation tanks and brand new bottling line. Their big goal is 600,000 cases throughout Florida by the end of 2016. Yes, Central and North Florida, you won’t be getting these until the end of 2015. Sorry…

Funky Buddha will also be releasing their Zen Session IPA in 6-packs in January. Formerly known as Crusher Single Hop Session IPA (4.3% ABV, 35 IBU), an exclusively Citra-hopped IPA that’s lighter and easier to drink than Hop Gun, but still delivers a big hop presence. Um, can we also have OP Porter in 6-packs as well? Please?

There will also be limited edition 4-pack bottle releases throughout the year, starting with Last Snow Porter (American Milk Porter, 6.3% ABV, 35 IBU), their incredible milk porter with coconut, white chocolate, and coffee. Other limited bottle releases include More Moro Blood Orange IPA (India Pale Ale/Fruit Ale, 7.2% ABV, 80 IBU) and Nib Smuggler Chocolate Milk Porter (American Milk Porter, 6.3% ABV, 35 IBU).

I can’t imagine that you’d be able to find these six packs hanging out on store shelves very long after Dec. 10th, so act fast. It’s great to see Funky Buddha growing and joining the ranks of brewers like Cigar City, 3 Daughters, Bold City, and other big Florida Breweries. Congrats!

Drink Florida Craft,

Dave
