Brew Review – Time Bomb by 7venth Sun

Do you have any idea how long it took me to learn how to write 7venth Sun‘s name without messing it up? And I still mess it up on occasion.

So 7venth Sun (I got it right again!) is a tiny little brewery from Dunedin that’s generating a lot of buzz in the state. Their brewers and founders, Devon Kreps and Justin Stange, have brewed with the likes of Sweetwater, Cigar City, and AB. Now they’re cranking out some pretty awesome beers close to the Gulf.

And, luckily for me, I found the time to grab a little Time Bomb (India Pale Ale, 4.5% ABV) for my first taste of their beer.

It was brewed to be a sessionable IPA, using Nelson Sauvin and Citra hops. And they did a wonderful job, even from someone not as big into IPAs as I am. The hops had a meaty, savory quality to them, not quite as overly fruity as some hop-forward IPAs can be.
