LauderAle Experiments and More from Saturday’s SaltWater Brewery Event

Interesting news from a few of my favorite South Florida breweries today.

First is an event happening at Ft. Lauderdale‘s Lauderale on Thursday evening. Owner/head brewer/nice guy Kyle Jones has brewed a barrel of a new English Bitter. The fun part is that barrel was split up into 8 different parts, and each part was pitched with one of the following yeasts:

  • Edinburgh WLP 028
  • Nottingham
  • Berliner Blend WLP 630
  • Dusseldorf WLP 036
  • Belgian WLP 570
  • American Farmhouse WLP 670
  • San Diego WLP 090
  • US 05 & Brett Blend WLP 650

These beers will be available for sampling as a flight tomorrow from 8 to 10 PM. People are invited to come out and try them all, to let Kyle know which one is the best. It sounds like it’ll be a good time and pretty educational to boot. You do need to RSVP on LauderAle’s Facebook page.

As for Saturday, Delray Beach‘s SaltWater Brewery is having their Don’t Get Confused event, featuring 20 (!) different treatments of their Mass Confusion Belgian Dubbel. $5 to get in (and the first 500 get a cool looking event snifter), and you get a raffle ticket with admission, too.
