Carnival Cruise Line has partnered with Miami’s Concrete Beach Brewing to make RedFrog Brewery onboard the new Carnival Vista. This will mark the first time a brewery has been placed on board and will produce beers on a cruise ship.
The RedFrog Pub brand has been a fixture for newer Carnival ships, and even carried their own contract-brewed Thirsty Frog Red ale.
For the pub on the Vista, however, three beers will be brewed on premises on a 3 BBL system: ThirstyFrog Port Hoppin’ IPA, FriskyFrog Java Stout, and ThirstyFrog Carribbean Wheat. The recipes for each of these was developed with the team at Concrete Beach.
According to Edward Allen, VP of Beverage Operations at Carnival, “Our guests love beer, and based on the success of Thirsty Frog Red, we decided we should make our own beer onboard.”
Even though there are RedFrog Pubs on other ships, these three brews “are available exclusively onboard Carnival Vista,” said Allen. Guests boarding other ships at other ports will still get local craft beers, such as two from Cigar City for other Florida-based ships.
The Carvinal Vista is due to welcome its first guests in Europe next month, and will move to its home port of Miami later in 2016.
