Brew Review – Fruity Loops by Devour Brewing @devour_brewing

I’m very happy to see how well Devour Brewing in Boynton Beach is doing. My favorite Shinedown-influenced brewery has a bigger brewing system, a bigger reputation, and has grown so far as to start distributing in a small area.

I just saw them at Brass Tap, including a beer that has gotten a lot of positive feedback in recent months, Fruity Loops (Blonde Ale, 5.4% ABV, 17 IBU).

Yes, I know what the name implies. No, it hasn’t been treated with cereal. Yes, that might be good. What the beer does consist of is a nice, lightly malty blonde ale with a lightly bready sweet flavor.

As for the fruit, Devour’s co-owner and brewmaster Chip Breighner sure loves brewing with tea. In this instance, it’s Fruits of the Forest tea from Twinings. Lots of orange, hibiscus, rosehip, etc., and all of those delicious flavors are present in the brew. Not tart, just nice and fruity and sweet.

Devour has come a long way, and I’m excited to see what Devour will do in the near future.
