Brew Review – Havakow by Ten10 Brewing @BrewingTen10

I apologize for sitting on this review for so long; life gets in the way sometimes.

But that’s the nice thing about crowlers (one of many); they can sit a few days longer than the average growler fill. So, after visitng Orlando’s Ten10 Brewing, the one beer I didn’t try and wanted to was Havakow  (Milk Stout, 6.5% ABV), their version of the classic milk stout style.

Something told me I wasn’t going to regret getting so much of it, and I was right. I am particular fan of the style, and head brewer Mike Wallace made a remarkably true-to-style beer that hits all the notes it needed to.

There’s a big aroma of cocoa and malt right off the bat. Drinking, the beer is velvety smooth and creamy, with a moderate bready malt character accentuated with nice bits of dark chocolate and a milky sweetness.

It’s also one of Mike’s year-round standards, so getting a crowler of it should be no problem at any time. It is nice and flavorful, so don’t let it sit around too long, not that it should. And if you do, go get another one. There’s no need to …

… be concerned.

Drink Florida Craft and completely avoid making cheesy, obvious jokes in a blog post,

Dave
