On Aug. 26th, Tallahassee’s Lake Tribe Brewing will be releasing the first beers in ‘The Wildwoods Project,’ an experimental series of wild beers.
According to Lake Tribe co-founder Jason Ross, the experiemnt “began in March of this year in what started as refining the recipe for a barrel aged sour concept brew that with had on a secret tap last year only available to those who found out about it by word of mouth.”
From there, the assistant brewers shared ideas they’ve always wanted to try but never did. Once the ideas were on the table and in execution, the result was:
- 6 wild ales
- 6 barrels
- 2 species of oak
- 4 different barrel rinses
- 3 months of slow aging
The first three beers release on Aug. 26th in a party that will also feature special brewery tours, BBQ, and live music. In the coming weeks after that, the remaining three brews will be released as well.
Quantities will be limited, so make sure to grab some before they’re gone!
