Brew Review – Jamaican Me Jittery by Side Door Brewing

I recently started dictating my blog posts, so let’s see how my phone deals with this particular post.

Halfway between Orlando and Fort Lauderdale you’re going to come across the city of Port St. Lucie. That’s how most people call it, but for some people in the area, they tend to call it the Pizzle.

Think about it. Port St Lucie, initials are PSL, you say it as an acronym, you get Pizzle. I’ve heard that some people don’t like it, and some people embrace it. All I know is that it’s the home of Side Door Brewing.

I’m not too terribly far away from the Pizzle, but I still have not made it to Side Door yet. I have met them at the Palm Beach Zoo and on more than one occasion have I been able to have their incredible Porter Jamaican Me Jittery (Porter, 5.6% ABV, 22 IBU) in Fort Pierce.

Actually, the last time I had Jamaican Me Jittery, I had let too much time elapse between having the beer and writing, or dictating, about said beer. That’s a shame because this is one of the greatest coffee porters I’ve ever had the pleasure of drinking.

It is insanely smooth, almost like a coffee liqueur or maybe a very well-prepared cup of coffee with just the right amount of cream and sugar put in. Not necessarily a coffee drinker myself, but to be honest with you I would be very interested in drinking more coffee if it tasted like this.

I’ve been lucky enough to find it at our usual restaurant in Fort Pierce (Cobb’s Landing for those of you that are interested) and I hope that the next time I go back it will still be there. Trust me if it is still there I will drink it again.

Of course, I could just head to the Pizzle and go straight to the source as well.

Drink Florida Craft,

Dave

P. S. The dictation picked up correctly. I’m very impressed.
