I know I’ve said this before, but I love that business parks are always found with at least one brewery lurking in the darkness.
Such is the case with Fort Myers Brewing, a place that I have been to once before, but enjoyed coming back to again. It was easy to find, with large black and white signs advertising the brewery in large, friendly letters.
And there it is, Fort Myers Brewing, taking a considerable amount of parking lot space for their outdoor beer garden.
Going inside, I was very happy that the garage doors were not open, since it was hot enough outside and I could sure use a respite from the Florida sun. I didn’t get too much of a respite though, since I immediately ordered a pint of Sun Juggler (Hefeweizen, 5.2% ABV).
It’s a creative name that very well describes how bright and sunny the beer actually is. The beer has a light golden color and an aroma that combines a light malty sweetness and a strong Citrus sparkle.
The flavor definitely has a much stronger orange quality then the average Hefeweizen, and brings with it a fantastic refreshing sweetness and easy going drinkability, things that are great in a beer that already had plenty of both anyway.
It’s light and crisp in all the right ways, and has a lot of repeatability, especially while sitting on a bench in the parking lot of a business park. In the heat.
And it’s easy to find, as well. Just look for the signs.
