Equipment Review – 250-Count Electric Cigar Humidor by NewAir USA @NewAirUSA

I like cigars. Always have, but now I’m really getting into them. In all that time, the storage is something that I’ve always struggled with.

Not so anymore, as I now have the 250-count Electric Cigar Humidor from NewAir USA. This thing makes everything a breeze. And after having lived with it for a couple weeks now, I can say it’s a worthwhile investment for cigar enthusiasts.

The unit is black metal with a brushed silver door and beautiful glass front so you can immediately see what sticks you have and choose that evening’s smoke. On top of the door is the control panel to change temperature, turn the light on, and switch degrees from Fahrenheit to Celsius (an interesting option).

It’s very easy to use, and if you seen my review of the 160-can beverage cooler I reviewed previously (And affectionately named the Seltzerbot 5000), my thoughts are very much the same.

The temperature readout, but if it’s a dark room the light will shine like a beacon. Also, keep in mind this is a refrigerator at heart. There is going to be a low level of noise associated with any fridge. I have mine in our guest room, so visitors are going to have to live with it.

Inside the unit, it’s everything I wanted in a good humidor. The Spanish Cedar that lines the walls and comprises the shelving smells heavenly. I have no concern allowing bare cigars to rest on the wood.

Construction is very solid, and the shelving can be arranged if need be, but my favorite part is the tray inside. It’s still made of Spanish Cedar, it’s got the NewAir logo nicely displayed, and there’s a built-in humidity sensor to boot.

That slide out tray is great for keeping special cigars aside, and allows for a pretty visual break in the visuals of the humidor. Some people, however, have removed it entirely. That’s the beauty of everything I’ve come to see with NewAir; customization. You can put it anywhere you need.

And I know this is silly, but it did come with a little plastic tray that I’ve used to store my lighter and cutter. Probably not where I should put it, that’s fine.

My favorite feature, that I never anticipated caring about, was the lock. There is a lock on the door, and two keys are provided as well. I thought it was going to be superfluous, but considering where I have it located and what I have stored inside, it’s become a very strong point of welcome relief when my 5 year old is around.

She can’t get in, and there’s no way she can find the keys. It’s the best part of an already great product.

When you order the humidor, NewAir is also gracious enough to ship a seasoning kit as well. As always, you want to make sure that it’s well seasoned before you attempt to store any cigars in it. Once this is over, the unit is big enough to store any sort of humidifiers you may need to keep your cigars nice and fresh as well.

I think it’s a worthwhile investment. It’s a solid build, and it’s something I’m definitely going to enjoy for many years to come.
