3 Daughters Brewery Prepares for Growth in 2015

3 Daughters Brewing recently celebrated their one year anniversary on Friday, Dec. 12th. The party was definitely a blowout, featuring speeches by co-owner Mike Harting and St. Petersburg mayor Rick Kriseman. For a rundown of the party, I went back to 3 Daughters’ awesome co-owner Leigh Harting for information on the party, Florida distribution of 3 Daughters beer, and what 2015 holds for them.

How was Friday?

Great. It was one of our busiest days. We really appreciated Mayor Rick Kriseman coming by to drink one of our aged beers. He did the ribbon cutting last year, so it was great to have him back. Continue reading

3 Daughters Brewing Anniversary Party Tonight

If you’re headed out to 3 Daughters Brewing‘s one-year anniversary party tonight, it looks like you’re in for a good time.

Let’s get right to the beer, shall we? Their limited edition tappings (because every brewery party needs them) are going to include 4 Redemption Barrel Aged Quad (Belgian Quadrupel, 11% ABV) and Black Tip Bourbon Barrel Aged Porter (Porter, 7.8% ABV, 23 IBU), both of which sound incredible. And strong… 11% alcohol would have me down pretty fast.

It looks like they will also have a few new beers tonight as well, including the incredible-sounding German Chocolate Cake Stout, Fantasmas Brown Ale, and a limited number of bombers of Old Number One Barleywine.

There will be special guests, too, including St. Petersburg mayor (and volunteer puppy trainer!) Rick Kriseman at 7:30 PM. On the entertaining side, there also be live music from The Spazmatics (there’s an interesting name for a band. The helmets also work wonders), Meditteranean fusion from Maggie on the Move, and BBQ from Urban BBQ and Brew.

Don’t worry, there will also be plenty of beer. And this will be a good opportunity to pick up one of 3 Daughters’ new 6 packs of either Beach Blonde Ale (Blonde Ale, 5% ABV) or Bimini Twist IPA (American IPA, 6.4% ABV).

I can’t be there (#sad), but definitely tag me @floridabeerblog in pictures you send out and I’ll retweet them. Have fun everyone!

And someone send me a bomber of that barleywine…

Funky Buddha Brewery bottles release Dec. 10th

It looks like the big event that quite a few Florida beer drinkers have been waiting for is coming next month.

On December 10th, Oakland Park’s Funky Buddha Brewery will release two of their signature beers in bottles for distribution throughout South Florida. The two scheduled for release is their signature Floridian (Hefeweizen, 5.6% ABV, 12 IBU), a light hefeweizen full of big, sweet fruity maltiness, and Hop Gun (India Pale Ale, 7.7 ABV, 80 IBU), their beloved IPA that has a juicy big hoppiness that hopheads tend to adore.

Brew News – Wynwood Brewing Releasing San Francisco Belgian Ale Wednesday

I am always excited to see when small breweries start to release limited edition, small batch bottles. And one of the most exciting breweries in Miami, Wynwood Brewing, will be doing just that this Wednesday, Nov. 5th.

Wynwood is releasing San Francisco, a Belgian Golden Strong Ale (and those zany belgian ales are good at being strong) that’s been aged in bourbon barrels for 6 months. The release happens at 6 PM at the Wynwood Brewery Tap Room, located at 565 NW 24 St. in Miami.
